I honestly feel like Ashlyn Care Home has saved my mum's life.
She has put on weight thanks to the great food and regular meals which she didn't do for herself at home. Her mental health has improved thanks to regular stimulation from the chats with the team and the events the home plans. She wasn't keen to go into a home to start, but now she has a new lease of life and is very happy being part of the Ashlyn family. All the team we meet are friendly and helpful and were great with advice for me when my mum first arrived. I really can't thank them all enough they do an amazing job despite it being very challenging at times.

We offer a wide range of group activities, exciting day trips, sensory sessions, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the people who live here. Additionally, we take pride in our state-of-the-art cinema room, providing a wonderful space for people to enjoy their favourite films.
- 81 bedrooms, all of which feature an en-suite wetroom, and four suites. Many have stunning garden views and are situated within four smaller communities, over two floors.

Living with us and our approach
At Etheldred House, we provide professional, person-centred care. This includes encouraging people to get involved in our Music for Health exercise classes, joining our reminiscence therapy sessions or just having a cup of tea and a chat in our café.
Our highly skilled team always make sure everyone receives sensitive, compassionate care, supporting people to remain happy, comfortable and content.

Location and surroundings
Etheldred House is located in the little village of Histon, five miles north of Cambridge. Our home is under ten minutes’ drive from the A14, A428 and A10, giving access to East Anglia, the Midlands and London, and just a short bus ride to Cambridge station. Our nearest bus stop is just a few minutes’ walk away, where the Citi 8 bus takes you into the city centre and the 110 to Ely.
Etheldred House is a five-minute walk to the local shops, supermarket, pubs, post office and bank. Nearby, there are plenty of pleasant walks through the surrounding countryside. We’re also well-positioned for lovely day trips to Cambridge, Ely, Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket.
