Our modern, purpose-built home is located on the outskirts of the market town of Huntingdon. It sits opposite the beautiful Riverside Park, Hartford. At Hunters Down, our friendly and experienced team support over 100 people to live a happy and fulfilled life, with lots of fun!

I honestly feel like Ashlyn Care Home has saved my mum's life.
She has put on weight thanks to the great food and regular meals which she didn't do for herself at home. Her mental health has improved thanks to regular stimulation from the chats with the team and the events the home plans. She wasn't keen to go into a home to start, but now she has a new lease of life and is very happy being part of the Ashlyn family. All the team we meet are friendly and helpful and were great with advice for me when my mum first arrived. I really can't thank them all enough they do an amazing job despite it being very challenging at times.

Living with us and our approach
Our team members are trained to give each individual the right care at the right time. We are always on hand to spend time with family members to support them too, offering our valuable advice or just a friendly ear.
We support people living with dementia through a range of techniques. For example, our reminiscence therapy sessions help to achieve a positive sense of wellbeing through sharing memories and life stories. We are also particularly skilled in supporting people who are nearing the end of their life and have been awarded Beacon status by the Gold Standards Framework, recognising the sensitive, compassionate care that we provide.

Location and surroundings
Hunters Down is just under a mile from the town centre of Huntingdon, a small, attractive market town with plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and facilities.
The A141 and A14 are around a mile away, with the A1 under four miles, giving good access from all directions. A 15-minute bus ride away, Huntingdon railway station has direct services to London King’s Cross and connections to the rest of the country. There are also good bus services to Peterborough, St Neots, St Ives and Cambridge. From Hunters Down, our local bus stop is just a five-minute walk away.
