I honestly feel like Ashlyn Care Home has saved my mum's life.
She has put on weight thanks to the great food and regular meals which she didn't do for herself at home. Her mental health has improved thanks to regular stimulation from the chats with the team and the events the home plans. She wasn't keen to go into a home to start, but now she has a new lease of life and is very happy being part of the Ashlyn family. All the team we meet are friendly and helpful and were great with advice for me when my mum first arrived. I really can't thank them all enough they do an amazing job despite it being very challenging at times.

Light, airy and modern, Sweyne Court is a family-run home that provides a warm, relaxed environment. We offer a high quality of life for the people who live with us and a real sense of community.
Our day centre is open on weekdays and supports people from the local community – providing companionship, personal care, wash facilities, home-cooked meals and the opportunity for some light relief from their own homes.
- 43 bedrooms, of which four feature an en-suite, and 15 feature en-suite wetrooms. Some have garden views, arranged over two floors with three couples’ rooms for people who want to stay together
- Day centre, open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm
- Enclosed gardens with vegetable patch
- Resident dog and cats
- All floors are wheelchair accessible
- Visitors are welcome throughout the day
- A small kitchen can be found in each suite, perfect for visitors to make themselves at home
- Pets are welcomed
Living with us and our approach
Sweyne Court is a lively and fun place, where the comfort, safety and wellbeing of the people we care for always comes first. Our team love spending quality time with each person, getting to know their likes, dislikes and life stories. This knowledge underpins our approach, ensuring we’re able to provide appropriate care for each resident in the way that they prefer.
We find that people settle into life here quickly, thanks to our kind, compassionate approach to caregiving. The team are always there for families too, sharing their expertise and insights into care and helping everyone to adjust to lifestyle changes.

Location and surroundings
Sweyne Court is in the heart of Rayleigh, Essex, situated between Chelmsford and Southend-on-Sea. Our care home lies within a couple of miles of the A127 and A13/A130, which takes you to London, the M25, Chelmsford and beyond. At the entrance to our cul-de-sac, the numbers 7, 8 and 514 buses take you directly to Shoeburyness, Hockley and Southend.
We are just a short stroll away from the pretty Rayleigh high street, with its shops, post office, banks and church, as well as popular pubs and restaurants. There is plenty to do in the area, from a potter around Hockley Woods to a trip to the beach at Southend.
