Westport Care Home is a close-knit home in Stepney Green, East London. We’re known for our homely environment, quality care and fun, friendly atmosphere. Our wonderful team, many of whom live in the local areas of Barking, Upminster and Ilford, are dedicated to supporting people to be safe, heard and supported.

I honestly feel like Ashlyn Care Home has saved my mum's life.
She has put on weight thanks to the great food and regular meals which she didn't do for herself at home. Her mental health has improved thanks to regular stimulation from the chats with the team and the events the home plans. She wasn't keen to go into a home to start, but now she has a new lease of life and is very happy being part of the Ashlyn family. All the team we meet are friendly and helpful and were great with advice for me when my mum first arrived. I really can't thank them all enough they do an amazing job despite it being very challenging at times.

Westport is a bright and attractive home, designed to be a comfortable, friendly place to live happily. We have 38 single rooms and 3 rooms designed for couples, all with their own en-suite facilities for privacy.
- 41 bedrooms, all of which feature en-suite wet-rooms and some with garden views, situated amongst care suites, arranged over 3 floors

Living with us and our approach
Dedicated to providing high-quality care, our skilled team spend time with each person to get to know their likes, dislikes and interests. This lets us tailor care and support around each individual. We also make sure that peoples’ families are always included, whether it’s working on their loved one’s care plan, joining us for afternoon tea or helping to decorate their loved one’s room with precious items or furniture.
Our two fantastic programmes – Namaste and Sonas – are both designed to enhance wellbeing through stimulating the senses. Using sound, images and touch, the people who live here experience deep relaxation and peace of mind. Guided by what the person responds to, these sessions are especially effective for those people living with dementia.

Location and surroundings
Just off the A13, a few minutes' walk from Stepney Green, Westport is easy to access from central London or the east. It’s a 15-minute walk from Stepney Green underground station and two minutes from Limehouse DLR and mainline. A bus stop, which is two minutes’ walk away, takes you to Old Street, Aldgate and Trafalgar Square or east to Blackwall, East Ham and Crossharbour.
There are plenty of places of local interest to visit and enjoy nearby. Whether it’s a walk through Mile End Park up to Victoria Park or an outing to the Half Moon Theatre, there’s plenty to do. Canary Wharf and St Katherine’s Dock are close by and make a fun day out.
