On Friday 21st June, the sun shone brightly over Braxted Park Estate in Essex, setting the stage for the Excelcare One in a Million Awards. This annual event celebrates the exceptional achievements of the Excelcare Family, recognising the hard work and dedication of team members who are truly one in a million.

The event brought together award winners and colleagues from the Excelcare Family for a memorable day that showcased people's incredible talents and achievements.

The Excelcare awards ceremony was led by our very own ringmasters, CEO Osman ‘Ozzie’ Ertosun and COO Sam Manning. The festivities kicked off with an energetic song and dance performance of Beyoncé’s western hit ‘Texas’, remixed with lyrics celebrating the Excelcare family, their achievements, and the day’s celebrations at Braxted Park Estate. This vibrant start set the tone for the rest of the day, as award-winning colleagues were honoured and welcomed to the stage to receive their awards from Ozzie and their service directors.

This year’s event theme was ‘The Great Showman’, which was very fitting for a ceremony that celebrated many of Excelcare’s talented team members for their outstanding achievements.

The final award of the day, the ‘Mr Bailey Award’, is an annual honour personally selected by Sam Manning. It recognises the person, persons, or team that demonstrate unwavering commitment to Mr Bailey and his friends. This year, the award was presented to Sherrell House Care Home in Chigwell for ‘consistently demonstrating dedication to the people who live there, ensuring safe, high-quality, compassionate care is delivered to each individual’. Reacting to the news, Jane Maxwell, Home Manager at Sherrell House, said, “Wow, we are all still in shock! Winning the Mr Bailey award is a real pinch-me moment. I would have never in a million years dreamed that Sherrell House would win such an award. This has to be the pinnacle of my career, as I know how important Mr Bailey is to us all within the Excelcare family.”

After the awards ceremonies, guests were invited onto the luscious lawns of Braxted Park, which had been transformed into a circus-themed showground with a red and white striped theme, roaming circus performers, fairground rides, fun and games, Ozzie and Engin’s showstopper cocktails, and many other exciting attractions.

A standout moment from the afternoon was a Greatest Showman tribute act on the main stage, which attracted a large crowd of people singing and dancing along to popular songs from the original show.

The One in a Million Awards was a spectacular celebration of our exceptional colleagues from across the Excelcare and Guildmore Family.

Reflecting on the event, CEO Ozzie said, “The One in a Million Awards is a testament to the extraordinary dedication and passion of our team members. It’s an honour to celebrate their remarkable achievements and to recognise the incredible impact they have on the lives of the people we care for. Each one of them truly is one in a million.”
