This week, we had the pleasure of hosting three students from Ravens Wood School in Bromley for a week of work experience at our Support Office.
As a company committed to fostering personal growth and promoting development, we welcomed Taylor, Olly, and Frankie to spend time with each of our core teams at the Support Office. The aim was to give them insights into how each function supports the aims, objectives, and values of the Excelcare Family.
The week started with an induction similar to that received by any new starter at our company. The induction included an information session about Excelcare and the services we provide, a tour of the office, introductions to team members, and a briefing on our internal policies and procedures.
Following a structured schedule, the trio had the opportunity to learn about the roles and functions of each core department within the business. They engaged in tasks associated with each role and received career advice and guidance from experienced professionals to help them develop new skills as they take their next career steps.
As a leading care provider dedicated to the well-being of our team, we arranged various activities throughout the week to give them the opportunity to network in a social setting. The activities included a game of bowling and a lunch with Excelcare’s CEO, Osman ‘Ozzie’ & Ertosun, at one of his favourite local restaurants.
While learning about Excelcare and our registered charity, The Excelcare Foundation, Taylor, Olly & Frankie thought and it would be great to host an activity to help raise money for the cause, which supports team members during life-changing circumstances such as illness or loss. They decided to organise a charity football match involving team members from the office. They raised money through donations from participants and colleagues across the office who supported the initiative. The students led the initiative, drafting emails to get everyone on board, and the match took place this morning!
It was a closely contested game and enjoyed by all, with Taylor, Olly, and Frankie raising an impressive £600 for The Excelcare Foundation through their efforts!
We would like to thank Taylor, Olly, and Frankie for their keen interest in Excelcare, their support for our teams, and their initiative in raising funds for our registered charity, and we wish them each the very best in the future.
