There was celebration to be had at Queens Oak Care Home in London, as Florence, who lives in the home, celebrated her 97th birthday!

The team wanted to make the day as special as possible for her and got to work immediately with planning and preparation. When Florence entered the lounge on the morning of her birthday, she was so surprised to see all the birthday decorations and treats displayed on the table!

She was very excited by this kind display, and only grew more excited when she realised that residents from other floors had come to celebrate with her!

Everybody greeted Florence with Stevie Wonder’s rendition of the birthday song, and then settled down with her to enjoy a slice of birthday cake and some refreshments. They all sat and spoke while they enjoyed their drinks and their cake and their lively conversation.

All of the attendees said that they had a fantastic time celebrating with Florence, and it was nice to be able to spend her birthday with her. Florence also said that she had an amazing day, and that she felt very special.
