The people living at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley connected with members of the Palace For Life Foundation when they recently partnered to host an evening of exciting games and activities.
The Palace for Life Foundation is a charity that is dedicated to improving the lives of people who live in South London. They extend their help to people of all different abilities and backgrounds, including people furthest from the job market to help them get work-ready and people who live with Down’s Syndrome.
For this incredible group of people, The Palace Foundation provides them with the opportunity to play football and make friends in a safe, enjoyable environment. It was this group that visited the people living and working at Park Avenue, and upon arrival, they performed a dance routine that they had been practicing.
The people living at Park Avenue thoroughly enjoyed watching the group dance and gave them a big round of applause for their impressive moves.
Group members from Palace for Life then spent time meeting the people who live at Park Avenue, playing games, and learning about each other’s lives. The group sing-along session was a highlight of the afternoon, as it provided people with the opportunity to engage in a shared hobby – it was a lovely way to spend the evening, connecting with others and making new friends.
Team members from the Palace Foundation said they witnessed the young people interacting with others in ways they had never seen before. Their communication and engagement in the session was soo positive that discussions are already underway about how they can take this partnership further.
We are excited to see the relationship between Park Avenue and the Palace For Life Foundation continue to develop!
