Our story
Excelcare started as a family company and remains one to this day. Back in 1989, our Chairman, Osman ‘Ozzie’ Ertosun built his first care home – a small nursing home in Catford, South London – with his father. Since then, he and his team have grown our organisation to the 31 care homes and homecare service we are proud to be today.
Our care homes are a combination of homes we've acquired and homes we’ve built ourselves. Every new design is based on the knowledge we’ve gained from our valuable experience. This helps us make our care homes the very best they can be for the people who call them their home.
Family at our heart
Family really does mean everything to us – it underpins our whole organisation. Whether it’s the people we care for, their families and friends or our team members – they are all part of our extended family.
Our family values empower us to deliver empathetic, compassionate person-centred care. Quite simply, it’s the same care we would want our own loved ones to receive.
As well as providing excellent care and a high quality of life to the people who live with us, we strive to create welcoming and relaxed environments. We want everyone to belong, and enjoy days filled with purpose and meaning, in a place they are proud to call ‘home’.

I honestly feel like Ashlyn Care Home has saved my mum's life.
She has put on weight thanks to the great food and regular meals which she didn't do for herself at home. Her mental health has improved thanks to regular stimulation from the chats with the team and the events the home plans. She wasn't keen to go into a home to start, but now she has a new lease of life and is very happy being part of the Ashlyn family. All the team we meet are friendly and helpful and were great with advice for me when my mum first arrived. I really can't thank them all enough they do an amazing job despite it being very challenging at times.
I could not ask for anything better.
